Alexandra Jamieson is a nationally recognized television personality, author and the editor of the Nutrition for Empowered Women blog. She has appeared on Oprah, the National Health Test with Bryant Gumbel and 30 Days (on FX network). She was also featured in the award winning documentary “Super Size Me.” Professionally trained as a healthy gourmet chef, she studied at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York. She later refined her techniques by cooking professionally in Milan, Italy, as well as at a variety of popular New York City restaurants. She also studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and remains a voice for holistic nutrition and healthy living. Her first book, “The Great American Detox Diet” ,published in 2006, offers an easy to follow step-by-step plan for not only ridding the body of harmful toxins.
